Tania McInnes

Kia ora. I’m Tania McInnes.
For more than 30 years, my mahi has taken me across leadership, governance, community, business and government.
I’ve sat around council tables, board tables, community tables and business tables. What I’ve learned is that the most important conversations often happen over a cuppa.
That’s part of why I created Leading Lights.
I’m endlessly curious about people, patterns and possibilities. I love bringing people together, asking good questions, creating space for honest kōrero and helping people see what might be possible next.
My own leadership journey has taught me that we already carry far more wisdom, creativity and knowing than we often give ourselves credit for.
And at this extraordinary moment in history, I think that matters more than ever.
As the world changes around us, I believe we need spaces that help us remember who we are - our heart, our wisdom, our humour, our courage and our capacity to create.
Leading Lights is one of those spaces.

A little of my journey
I spent six years as Deputy Mayor of the Far North District, and my work since has continued across leadership development, regional development, governance, business capability and community.
These days, much of my work is alongside organisations, leaders and founders navigating change - often in complex situations where clarity, confidence and possibility matter.
I’m not particularly interested in titles - the hats we wear. I am interested in the magic that happens when we come together, remove masks, and bring more of who we really are to the table.
More about me here.
The future belongs to those who can combine deep wisdom, curiosity and courage with the possibilities of this ever-changing world.
